This is a map of the world showing the global distribution of tropical rainforests. As we can see from the image, most of the world’s rainforests are located in coastal areas close to the equator. There are three main regions which are densely forested: South America and the southern tip of North America; Central Africa and the island chains of southeast Asia and Oceania including Guinea, Indonesia and the Philippines. In conclusion, tropical rainforests are rare and it is important that we make an effort to preserve them.
