This table lists the top ten most livable states in the United States for 2007 and 2011. The rankings are based on factors such as household income, home ownership and educational attainment; as well as crime and poverty rates, infant mortality and unemployment. As we can see from the image, the highest ranked state was New Hampshire for both years. This was closely followed by Utah and Wyoming. In contrast, Mississippi was judged to be the least livable state for nine of the last ten years.
