Humans share similar bone structures to many other species. The closest match is the pterodactyl which has elongated metacarpals and one long finger which forms the structure of the wing. Modern birds are also very similar however their finger bones do not extend the full span of the wing. Bats are the only species whose metacarpals are not joined together at both ends. Each of their fingers extends to the outer extremities of their wings.
