The given lecture was on Mary Walker, who was an American abolitionist and surgeon. She was the only woman to ever receive the Medal of Honor. She was a brave lady and got the Gold medal for her bravery. Many officers made her life very difficult as they think that a lady should be a doctor in the civil war. Speaker mentioned, she was arrested several times, because of wearing pants. Moreover, the government tried to take the Gold medal from her, but she denied every time. In the year of 1919, she died.
