The speaker was discussing Mary Mallon better known as Typhoid Mary. She was the first person in the USA identified as a Symptomatic carrier of pathogen associated with typhoid fever. Firstly, he mentioned that she was twice forcibly isolated by public health authorities. He also described she worked as a cook in NYC for 7 families and after 2 weeks of employment, residents developed typhoid fever. Moreover, he talked about she infected 51 people in which 3 of them died. Finally, she was presumed to have spread the disease in many places around the USA.
