Should the government build more roads to allow more vehicle owner or improve the network of public transport?
The role of government to build more roads to accommodate more vehicles or to increase the network of public transportation has sparked heated debate among many people. Many people claim that the government should build more roads to accommodate more vehicles. Others reject this notion and claim that improving public transport is mandatory. I strongly believe that improving the public transport is the best solution to overcome these problems. I would analyze that throughout this essay by elaborating it’s both sides.
To begin with, public transport is the only way to reduce traffic on the roads. Because of the improved network of public transport, there is the reduction of traffic jams in the peak hours. Not only this reduction in the traffic jam would make the traveling fast but it will also save tons of fossil fuel which is a scarce resource of any nation. All these advantages stand the ecosystem of nature in good stead as far as pollution is concerned.
Another pivotal aspect is that public transport is more affordable for people with low-income people. Furthermore, efficient public transport would encourage private car owners to switch to government transport as it proffers the advantages like convenience and affordability. And they will be able to save money they used to spend on petrol. Therefore, public transport is necessary rather than investing money in constructing roads.
According to the arguments aforementioned, one can reach out to conclusion that the benefits of strengthening public transport infrastructure are indeed too great to ignore.
